FACT: The Australian Bureau of Statistics reports over 61% of our population order goods or services over the internet.
FACT: Only 28% of businesses are accepting orders online.
FACT: Less than half of Australian businesses have a web presence at all.
Let’s read that again… Less than half of Australian businesses have a web presence at all!
If you are one of those businesses who aren’t yet engaging with your customers online, it’s time to take action or be left behind. There are several steps you can take to start giving your business or organisation an online identity, but realistically, a website is the most important.
Common Reasons I hear from business who DON’T have a website:
– I don’t understand it.
– I don’t have time.
– It’s too expensive.
– I have a Facebook Page.
– Our customers are mainly word of mouth.
You know what? It’s ok if you don’t understand it…that’s the whole point of working with an expert. I wouldn’t attempt to rewire my house because I’m not an electrician.
If you think owning a website is going to chew up time, have a chat to a digital marketing specialist about what would actually be required from you. Imagine spending a few minutes per month in relation to your great, effectively marketed website, which attracted enough new clients that you could work less hours overall? Have the conversation.
I have literally had to pick my jaw off the floor when I’ve learned about how much some digital agencies are charging local business owners. Prices vary a lot between web design and SEO agencies, but so does the quality of the service and sometimes more expensive does not necessarily mean better. A good website and SEO package should deliver a return on investment for the business owner.
I pride myself on offering value for money to my clients and delivering results. Arrange a consultation and you might find that it’s not as costly as you might think.
So many small business owners rely on a Facebook Page or other social media alone for their business. I’m just going to put this out there:
What about all the customers who aren’t on social media?
Do you realise a website is an asset that has a monetary value if and when you sell your business one day?
You don’t own a social media page. The platform does. What if the social media platform decides to change the rules. Big companies never do that, right?
And your customers are mainly word of mouth. That’s great – it reflects wonderfully on your business. I’m going to assume you don’t want your revenue to increase as much as it could.
Do you already have a website?
Is it performing as well as it could?
Did you know that a single second delay in your website loading time can result in a 7% loss in conversion and that 40% of web users will abandon a website if it takes longer than 3 seconds to load?
Millenials are getting impatient!
Increasing the load speed of your website is one of the simplest improvements your can make. Ask me how!
Websites ranked Number 1 in search engine results (excluding the paid ads) will get over 36% of people clicking through to them.
In contrast, the web page that ranks Number 2 receives only 12% of clicks and only 1.5% of users even click through on Page Two of search results!
Want more people visiting your website? Have a chat to me to discuss how a few tweaks to your site can improve your search engine ranking.
Search engine users will click on naturally or organically ranked results 94% of the time, compared to 6% of users clicking on paid ranking results, which means that investing in good SEO is often a better use of your marketing budget, over paid advertising.
See where you’re ranking. Try searching for a related query, such as “digital markeing illawarra” or “ladies gym bulli” to see where your website ranks.
